This is not a dream. I repeat, this is not a dream and you can open your eyes. Renowned EDM trio Swedish House Mafia are reunited and packed with extra attitude as well as a new sound direction in their band reboot. The trio shared the news of their reunion these past few days and this information has already seen thousands of retweets and shares on social media, it kind of feels like the public is in a frenzy about the news and why would they not be? This is, after all, the trio that brought calm to the public after the conspiracies of the world ending in 2012 re-surfaced. How did they do so you might wonder?
In 2012, the trio released their anthemic single ‘Don’t You Worry Child’, which has been streamed over 600 million times on Spotify to date and certainly turned up the energy in clubs all over the world. The trio consists of members Sebastian Ingrosso, Axwell and Steve Angello who all departed from the group in 2013 to pursue other ventures. Fans across the world were disheartened about the news, but at least they ended the news with a final emotional event with Ultra Miami in 2013. It was revealed that there were indeed some creative differences and tension between the lads building up to the final show.
Now it’s a new decade, and the fires have been put out between these guys as they have shared their first offering ‘It Get’s Better’ via SSA Recording which is certainly a change of tone from their former sound. Nonetheless, the same spirit exists that makes them engaging and animated. This latest single has also been unveiled with a music video, which has a dystopian flair and it is hard not to stop watching and nodding your head along to. We look forward to seeing what this trio unveils in the week to come, and the public does as well. The video has been streamed over 7 million times on YouTube to date since its release last Thursday – enough said.
Tones of uncertainty stemming from love are prevalent throughout Marcus James’ latest single, ‘The Night We Nearly Threw It All Away’ featuring up-and-coming artist, MNYS. The single was released today, on the 16th of July via Physical Presents. Hailing from and currently based in Vancouver, Canada, Marcus James is well known for his collaborations and has worked with some stellar names in the music industry. A name worthy of mention, being that of multi-platinum selling artist Trevor Guthrie. The producer has also shared a stage with the likes of Robin Schulz, 3LAU, LostFrequencies and ZedsDead to name a few.
“There’s a certain time of night, usually around 1-3am, if you find yourself unable to sleep the thoughts you’ve pushed aside all day come to the surface. This song reminds me of those moments spent wondering if something from your past could have gone differently and wondering if someone else is out there thinking the same thing.” – Marcus James on the single.
Stylistically, the artist’s sound calls to mind the likes of Alle Farben, Robin Schulz and Elderbrook while still striking that sweet spot of “emo house” the producer has made his own. ‘The Night We Nearly Threw It All Away’is a captivating single that displays the multi-faceted nature of love with MYNS providing sobering vocals and lyrics that will etch themselves in the back of the listener’s mind.

The wait is officially over for globally renowned music producer and top collaborator Felix Cartal to share his album Expensive Sounds For Nice People via Physical Presents. We are a tad emotional, as we have heard the evolution of Cartal’s sound through each release featured on this album and now they are all brought together in one explosive dancefloor album for devoted EDM lovers consumption. This album took three years to come together and we believe it was worth the wait as each track’s production has been crafted around each featured acts unique flow, and we cannot be more delighted to hear this divine range of emerging music producers and singers in one album.
Felix Cartal previously featured on Phuture Lifewith the release of featured track ‘The Life ft.Fjord’ and on E-D-Mwith the song ‘Only One ft. Karen Harding’. Here’s what Phuture Life had to say about Felix Cartal’s work: “Other featured artists on this forthcoming album include a diverse range of acts like Hanne Mjøen who writes and produces electro-pop and EDM singer Karen Harding who is known to have to be a key collaborator in recent times. Now Felix switches things up again collaborating with other DJ’s on one track. Each track on this upcoming album will certainly differ in the mood conveyed, Fjord’s being feel-good.”
This album is a heart wrenching listen and pulse rate accelerator at the same time, with messages of love lost and found. We have no doubts that you will not be enjoying this album wherever you are and whatever you are doing – it is an undeniably banging album and Felix Cartal has made his mark once again with this project.
Marco Dalla Villa is a London based DJ and producer originally from Italy. Having studied music theory and composition from a very young age, Marco uses his theoretical knowledge in an experimental way. Instead of following a structure, his songs are simply a flow of real emotions which follow a strong, hypnotic beat. Marco doesn’t take himself too seriously and hopes his listeners will do the same. With the ultimate goal of making music to share emotions and encouraging others to dance and feel happy, Marco provides a healthy dose of positivity throughout his intoxicating soundscapes.
His latest release “Maps” is the official remix of the song which is currently representing Ireland in Eurovision 2021. Originally by Lesley Roy, she chose Marco to put his own spin on the song, giving it an anthemic and explosive feel. Several traditional Irish dancers choreographed a dance to the remix, sharing across social media platforms, all showing support for Ireland in the Eurovision contest. The big and bold song comes to life with fast-paced beats, colourful, soaring synths and Roy’s powerful vocals, delivering a feel-good, dance-worthy track just in time for summer.
The first date – they can either be a complete failure or you meet someone that you can see a potential future with. HOFFEY’s latest song ‘Coffee’ released via Physical Presents dives deeper into the potential of finding your soulmate in that initial meeting. This beautiful moment of realizing that the stranger you are conversing with someone who could become your whole world is an unreal feeling and something that is rare. Your future with them flashes before your eyes as their lips move. The beauty in the prospects they share with you makes your lips quiver. And you are hooked from that day forth.
Releasing their feel-good tune ‘GOOD THINGS ARE COMING’ months ago, the duo shared this message on socials: “We just wanted to write a song that felt like an anthem of positivity, good vibes and hope amongst all the chaos, struggle and fear this year has brought. we hope this song meets you wherever you’re at and leaves you feeling excited for the future cause even if you don’t feel it right now GOOD THINGS ARE COMING.”

Leeds-born, London-based artist Alex Mills returns with new single ‘Keep Pushing’, produced by Manchester duo Solardo, out on Ultra.
A slick, high-energy club heater, ‘Keep Pushing’ combines pumping hi-hats and a deep, pulsating bassline with Alex’s seductive vocals. It marks the latest in a long list of star-studded collaborations for the Solardo boys, who recently remixed ‘Eyes On Me’, the single from US singer-songwriter Chelley, and linked up with Spanish artist Wade on ‘Get Your Money’, a house smash that has racked up over 500,000 Spotify streams in less than a month. Meanwhile last year they joined forces with former Happy Mondays co-singer Rowetta on house smash ‘Enough’and remixed UK chart-topper Becky Hill’s single ‘Space’.
A singer, songwriter, DJ and producer, Alex Mills has collaborated with some of the biggest artists in dance music, including Basement Jaxx, Hot Since 82, Chris Lorenzo, Joey Negro, Sonny Fodera and countless others. Amassing millions of streams across her back catalogue, Mills’ prolific output led to her being dubbed the ‘producers choice’ of vocalist by global tastemakers Mixmag. ‘Keep Pushing’ marks her third single release of 2021, following ‘Want You To Want Me’and ‘Shout It Back’ featuring Gotsome, tracks that have already amassed more than 2 million combined Spotify streams.
‘Keep Pushing’ is a stellar collaboration between one of the UK’s finest dance music vocalists and one of the UK’s finest production duos.
This year proves to be an eventful one for multi-platinum winning Physical Presents star Felix Cartal, who has announced he will be releasing his album Expensive Sounds For Nice People on the 25th of June. The forthcoming album will be dominated by badass vocalists & forward-thinking female creatives such as hit songwriters Karen Harding, Kiiara & Sophie Simmons. After several commercially successful releases, Harding is working towards releasing an album of her own via Ultra Music this year. In the meantime while we wait for both album releases, you can feast your ears on the latest single from Felix Cartal & Karen Harding – ‘Only One’ via Physical Presents.
Previously featured on E-D-M (read feature) for the ‘Happy Hour’ music video release with Kiiara, we commented on the music producer’s artistic range with the release:”Directed by Casey Lum the ‘Happy Hour’ is now accompanied by a music video that is ambitious, innovative, and a fitting video for this undeniable banger. Switching between parallel time frames and scenarios, featuring none other than Felix Cartal & Kiiara, this video does not take itself seriously, and that is something that one needs to do once in a while.”
Following on from the ‘Happy Hour’, ‘Only One’ takes a more subtle turn towards forbidden romance and a night of undeniable pleasure with love that is not meant for you. We really hope to see a video release for this mellow dance-pop track. The ‘Happy Hour’ & ‘Mine’ videos both surprised us with their out of the box themes and we have no doubts that this video would carry similar quirks – if there should be one.
Having kept fans eagerly awaiting the next thumping instalment, Australia’s crowned electronic talent Dom Dolla hits the mark with the bold new single ‘Pump The Brakes’, out now on Sweat It Out. Taking the world by storm with a series of hypnotic house heaters, including his international breakthrough single ‘Take It’, earning over 100 million streams worldwide, the Melbourne talent followed it up with the ultimate ode to dance floors ‘San Frandisco’. With both records being accredited gold, the latter went on to earn him a multitude of accolades including #1 most played triple j, whilst charting at #33 on triple j’s prestigious Hottest 100 list, before earning himself an AIR award for Best Independent Dance Release, as well as an ARIA award for Best Dance Release following two previous nominations.
The signature Dom Dolla sound shines through in all of its modulated tech-house glory on ‘Pump The Brakes’, whilst lyrically paying homage to his much loved and beat up first car. Although now looking a little tired and dishevelled, the car reflects a moment in time where Dom was just getting started on the club scene, with the song invoking that sense of anticipation and excitement. Dom shares “I produced this record specifically to play at the Shrine in LA in early 2020 (which turned out to be a few weeks before the world shut down). It was written as a tongue in cheek story partly inspired by my first car, an old Camry that collects dust in Melbourne while I’m away on tour. I wasn’t sure what to do with the record when dance floors paused around the world. But I’ve received requests for it every other day since. All things considered, I figured it’s probably time to get it out there into the world. I hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoyed giving it a rev on the dance floor”.
As a bright and charismatic personality on the scene, Dom’s feel good attitude shines through in his music, earning him a plethora of fans all around the world. Quickly pricking the ears of tastemakers far and wide, Dom was named Pete Tong’s ‘Future Star’ on BBC Radio 1, Billboard Dance ‘One to Watch’, and Dancing Astronaut’s ‘Breakthrough Artist’. Now with a staggering 300 million+ streams across his releases to date, Dom has proven himself through his originals, and his collaborations including the knockout single ‘Moving Blind’ with Sonny Fodera, the mammoth Torren Foot collaboration ‘Be Randy’ which earned him his first ARIA nomination, and one of his all time classics ‘Define’ with Go Freek, which to this day is one of his greatest streaming successes. Emerging German DJ / producer TIM PLVNK continues his prolific start to 2021 with brand new single ‘SOMEBODY’.
An emotionally charged dance cut, ‘SOMEBODY’ juxtaposes sugar-sweet vocals and ethereal breakdowns with a deep, domineering bassline. It marks his third single release of the new year, following on from ‘ADIOS AMIGO’ and ‘MIRACLE’.
Tim explains: “With ‘SOMEBODY’, my team and I want to present a track that appeals to many higher-ups and forces everyone to bob along with a groovy dance beat. Supplemented with soulful vocals and lyrics that tell a true story, we want to get everyone to sing and dance in the car, on the beach or the dance floor.”
A producer, marketing manager and DJ, TIM PLVNK discovered dance music aged 16, first trying his hand as a DJ and throwing wild parties in abandoned buildings. His desire to become an artist grew and he dropped his debut single ‘ECHO’ in April 2019. The follow-up, ‘I JUST WANT YOU’ went viral, racking up 4 million Spotify streams and skyrocketing Tim’s reputation overnight.
‘SOMEBODY’ is an emotional club jam that elegantly taps into the quintessential TIM PLVNK sound.
